Performing Arts Camp

Performing Arts Camp runs in The Hague from Mon 10 - Fri 15 July;  Mon 24 - Fri 28 July and Mon 14 - Fri 18 August

The perfect camp for all your little entertainers – or for bringing out the inner performer in the quieter child... A diverse programme featuring a range of different activities looking at aspects of theatre, performance and dance.

From backstage to the spotlight we’ve got things covered…but we always make sure there’s plenty of time for some great group sports and activities outside too. Starting with role play acting and improvisation techniques, we will work on building the children’s confidence so they feel comfortable trying something new.  Movement games and activities will provide a fun way to gradually develop a sense of rhythm – until before they know it the children have gained a new found confidence in dance and performance – both as a group and individually. But it’s not all about what happens ON the stage – our talented campers will also be having fun with costume making, stage decorations, puppeteering and even script writing!

As if all that’s not enough, there are two brilliant workshops at Koorenhuis Institute for Art Education* to look forward to!

Finally, as the end of the week draws close the children pool all their newly learnt performance skills, dance moves and script writing abilities to provide a Grand Finale Performance on the Friday afternoon – making memories that will last a lifetime…

In addition to the workshop activities specifically focusing on the theme of the week each camp also includes fun sports and recreational games, and two field trips. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

The camps also offer Dutch children the perfect opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

All our camps and activities are led by our qualified childcare workers and carried out in age appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training.  Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field-trips in a safe and non-competitive environment.

How much does it cost?

The gross cost (without childcare allowance) is €89.25 per day or €446.25 per week. This price includes healthy organic meals and snacks throughout the day; entrance fees and transport for field trips; and all materials and instruction.

Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations. Dutch childcare allowance is available for parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality. Our staff will be happy to help you apply.
