How does the waiting list work?

Due to the demand for our services, it could happen that we don’t immediately have a place available for your child. When we are unable to offer your preferred placement right away, your child will be placed on our waiting list. Below you can read more information about what you can expect when you are on the Zein waiting list.

The place you have requested isn't available yet, what's next?

When there is no availability for the combination of days, location and start date you have requested, you will be placed on the waiting list. You will receive an email from us in which we ask you to confirm your placement wishes.

When you are placed on our waiting list, we will continuously check the placement options for your child. Whilst you wait for a place to become available, you will regularly receive an update email. In this email we ask you to check and confirm the details of your preferred placement. This is how we keep our waiting list as up to date as possible.

How long is the waiting list?

The length of the waiting list differs per location and service and depends on the number of child places, pedagogical staff members, registrations received, and the care days you have requested.

How can you increase the placement possibilities?

It could be that we do have availability for a different attendance pattern. Therefore, it could help to inform us of your flexibility with regards to care days. You can do so by email to [email protected] or by calling +31(0)702002375.

How can you cancel your place on the waitinglist?

If you want to cancel your place on the waiting list, please let us know as soon as possible. You can cancel your place by email to [email protected].

Can you apply for the childcare allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag) in advance?

No, you can only apply for childcare allowance once you have signed a placement contract. You can make a test calculation of the (net) costs for the care of your child. Read more about childcare allowance here.

What are the steps when a placement becomes available?

As soon as a childcare place becomes available for your child, you will receive an email from us with a placement offer. In this email, you can read how you can accept or reject the placement proposal.

How far in advance can Zein offer placements?

We can plan approximately 6 months ahead.

Do siblings receive priority placement?

If you already have childcare for your other child(ren) at Zein, we will try to give your application for a sibling priority over other applications. We do our best to ensure that children from the same family are cared for at the same location. Please note: we cannot give any guarantees.
