Zein receives 'FD Gazelle' award

Friday, November 25, 2016

This week the Zein Child Care Group was thrilled to receive the FD Gazelle award – for the second year in a row. The title of FD Gazelle is awarded annually by ‘Het Financieel Dagblad’ to the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands. The much sought after title recognises the success and security of businesses from all sectors, based on a number of financial criteria that have to be met for a minimum of three consecutive years.

Director and Co-Founder Jan van der Meijden was proud to join the award ceremony on 22 November at Theater Amsterdam to receive the award, and to also be named as ‘Best Performing Company in the Care Sector’ in West-Holland. A remarkable accomplishment in a sector which has faced many challenges in recent years.  During this time, however, Zein has remained committed to its mission and philosophy, to provide the children in their care with an internationally oriented nurturing learning environment – never compromising on the quality provided and continuously aiming to ‘Set the Standard in International Childcare’. Thankful for the trust of the many parents who selected Zein Childcare for their children, and the staff contributing to the company’s success, the award was celebrated together with parents and staff at a parents’ evening taking place in one of Zein’s locations that same evening.

New building for 'The Oaks' takes shape

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Although our old 'Storks' and 'Music Room' locations by the International School have served us well, new will argue that moving to a new purpose built location will be a great improvement.  Located immediately behind the ISH campus, on the ground floor of the brand new Die Haghe Clubhouse, this purpose built facility will provide a big step forward in terms of facilities and accommodation for our Out of School Care children there. Earlier this month, Jan van Meijden - co-founder of Zein Childcare - signed the rental contract with Chairman of Die Haghe, Ton van der Starre.

From the outset, the new building has been designed for multipurpose use. The top floor will serve as the clubhouse for the football club, whilst the majority of the ground floor will be for the exclusive use of Zein Out of School Care children, aged 4-12, from the International School. The interior décor and chunky wood furnishings at 'The Oaks' will offer the same homely feel as the other dedicated use Zein locations. There will also be a brand new natural playground, consisting of a wide range of wooden play equipment, completing the facilities at this great new location!

For a visual impression of the new build please see our photo gallery

Whilst most of the places will be taken by existing clients, the extra space will allow us to accept a few more new children, so if you are interested in securing a place for your child please contact us as soon as possible or apply online now for a place.

The little ones at our Princess Ariane location in Noordwijk had great fun putting a crown on Maxima’s head – blindfolded – while the After School Care children at Robbie’s Place LSV had a wonderful time painting beautiful windmills!

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Great parental lecture this evening from Ruth van Reken - the renowned author of 'Third Culture Kids - Growing Up Among Worlds'. Many insightful anecdotes and practical examples of both the rewards and challenges of bringing your child up in a different country or with mixed cultural influences... Supporting our children through their internationally mobile lives, and helping show them how to make the most out of those experiences, is one of the important roles which Zein International Childcare plays every day. Many thanks to Ruth for giving of her time so generously!

Worth a watch - the video called 'Where's Home' explores the unique perspectives of Third Culture Kids - people who have spent a significant portion for their childhood overseas. Click here to watch the video.
