NOTE: During the winter break, The Maples specifically covers the holiday days of the European School, the International School, the French School and De Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. The holiday camp location is also open to children from other schools in the surrounding area – including Dutch families who would like to expose their children to a fun English-speaking environment. All camp days at Zein are complemented with various sports and recreational games – indoors and outdoors if weather permits.
FIRST WEEK OF CAMPS
Thursday 22 December:
To kick off winter fun at camp, our explorers will make and decorate special festive trees before making their own pretty penguins. The older adventurers will enjoy a frosty activity, making their own snowflakes and preparing salty dough ornaments, with all campers finishing the day with sports and recreational games.
Friday 23 December:
This morning our explorers will make egg carton reindeers cute enough to join Rudolph and the gang. Adventurers will learn how to make a snowstorm in a jar and later on all campers will make a special snowman light. All campers will finish the day enjoying sports and recreational games.
Monday 26 December: ***CLOSED FOR NATIONAL HOLIDAY***
Tuesday 27 December:
Explorers are getting ready for the New Year, crafting colourful calendars and they will also enjoy a paper plate polar bear craft. Brrr, so cool! The Adventurers will decorate mugs as they choose – perhaps choosing inspiration from festive fun with family or the natural world around us before making marvellous marble festive cards. All campers will end the day with sports and recreational games.
Wednesday 28 December: FIELD TRIP DAY! Location to be confirmed.
Thursday 29 December:
There is more festive fun planned today – the Explorers will create mini-mallow snowman baubles before crafting a spectacular winter crown. The Adventurers will make melted snowman ornaments with cute little hats before marvelling at their next science experiment – making magical, icy cold snow dough! All campers will end the day with sports and recreational games.
Friday 30 December:
The Explorers will put a festive spin on a classic game by making snowman bowling pins and the Adventurers will use a favourite technique, yarn art, to make paper plate snowflakes! All campers will enjoy making shortbread cookies before ending the day with sports and recreational games.
Monday 02 January:
Brrr, what’s that cold breeze we feel? Today Explorers will be making a winter tree painting whilst Adventures explore the art of making a snowy town. Then, it’s time to warm up with a gingerbread baking activity, bound to smell and taste amazing! All campers will finish the day enjoying sports and recreational games.
Tuesday 03 January: FIELD TRIP DAY! Visit to nearby park for outdoor games & fun!
Back at camp, campers will embark on a fingerprint elves card-making activity session before making messy candy cane fluffy slime!
Wednesday 04 December: FIELD TRIP DAY! Location to be confirmed.
Thursday 05 January:
As the Explorers get creative with a frosty activity, making an icicle craft, the Adventurers will mould clay to create adorable snow person pinch pots this morning. After enjoying recreational games and play we will get those creative juices going again as we make starry night cards.
Friday 06 January:
It’s party time! Today we celebrate the end of a festive holiday of fun, games and friendship. We will make a healthy pizza to enjoy, and play music for a game of musical chairs and dance to release some energy and have an all around good time! And, of course, there will be sports and recreational games to enjoy!
