Photography Camp - Summer 2022

Photography Camp - Summer 2022

At Photography Camp, children can bring their imagination to life through creativity and skill...

About Photography Camp
This camp is designed to introduce children, little and big, to the world of photography; from the basics of how to use a camera to how light influences the final photograph. Using their newly-learned techniques and self-made props, campers will capture static and moving objects, inside and outdoors, as well as themselves and our friends at camp.

At the end of the week, children will proudly host an exhibition for their parents. Placed in self-made frames, their photographs will show how our young photographers have mastered the skill of close-ups, bird's eyes, and low-angle shots.

In addition to the daily workshop activities specifically focussing on the theme of the week, each camp day also includes fun recreational sports and games daily. We'll also visit a forest with a natural playground for an outdoor adventure, and go on an excursion to a sea aquarium to discover the wondrous sea animals that live in the ocean - before heading to the beach for some photography. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

Cameras and all equipment needed will be provided by Zein.

Field Trips
Each weekly programme provides two exciting field trips, offering the perfect balance between time spent on and away from the camp location for children of all ages.

  • Sea aquarium, followed by photography on the beach: Tues 26 July, Tues 2 Aug, Tues 16 Aug
  • Forest with natural play equipment: Thurs 28 July, Thurs 4 Aug, Thurs 18 July

About the sea aquarium: Children will learn about the different inhabitants of the ocean and how we can protect the environment. They meet special animals and stand face to face with rays, sharks, and even a sea turtle. In the underwater tunnel, it feels like you are walking among the fish on the bottom of the sea...! In short: a very inspiring visit. After discovering the wondrous underwater world at the aquarium, campers will undertake photography activities at the beach!

Forest with Natural Play Equipment: At this nature reserve, children can experience nature to the fullest in a safe way! In the fresh air, campers will build a hut, climb trees, view the area from the tower, walk through huge water pipes, and much more!

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

Additionally, as Zein is the official childcare partner of all key international schools in the region as well as various local Dutch schools, our staff is trained to apply simple techniques to help children understand the daily routine and quickly become part of the group, regardless of the language they speak.

The camps are also increasingly popular among Dutch children, who enjoy the opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

All our camps and activities are led by our qualified childcare practitioners and carried out in age-appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training. Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field trips in a safe and non-competitive environment.

How do I make a booking and what will be the cost?

Bookings can be made via our online booking form. Your booking will be confirmed by our planning team within 2-3 working days. If you would like to discuss your booking please contact a member of our team using 070 200 2375 or

Register for camp

Parents are advised that children will get the most out of theme camps if they attend the entire week. Therefore, for new clients, we encourage initial bookings to be for 1 week (5 consecutive days). Thereafter bookings can be made in two-day blocks.

How much does camp cost?
The gross cost (without childcare allowance / kinderopvangtoeslag) is €106,16 per day. This price includes healthy organic meals and snacks throughout the day, entrance fees and transport for field trips, and all materials and instruction. Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations and run by qualified staff. Therefore, partial reimbursement of the gross cost is available to most parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality through the Dutch childcare allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag). Our staff will be happy to provide more information.
