Hello Holland! Camp - Summer 2019

A warm welcome to Holland - learn about the Dutch culture, the people, the language...

About Hello Holland! Camp
This camp might well be the perfect holiday camp for new arrivals, aimed at introducing children to Holland and meeting other new arrivals while having great fun. Enjoy an activity-filled week learning about your new surroundings – the culture, The Hague city, the people, and the language – and just some of the great things Holland has to offer! You will explore the famous Dutch 'Koekhappen' game, build a dam and learn about water levels, get creative creating Delft Blue tiles and so much more...

Are you new in Holland – or do you have a colleague or friends who will be relocating with their family to The Hague this summer? If so, this camp could be just what you’re looking for!

Children who are Dutch, or have been living in the Netherlands for some time, turn into proud camp leaders during this week as they share all there is to know about Holland with their new friends.

In addition to the workshop activities specifically focussing on the theme of the week, each camp also includes fun sports and recreational games daily and two field trips per week. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

Zein is the trusted partner to most of the international schools in The Hague including The British School, The International School of The Hague, The European School, The French Lycee and de Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. Please note however that families are free to select any of Zein's out of school care locations for holiday camps based on their preference of the theme. All our locations are registered and fully licensed, so working or families can claim part of the costs for the camps back via the Dutch Childcare allowance.

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

The camps also offer Dutch children the perfect opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

All our camps and activities are led by our qualified childcare practitioners and carried out in age appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training. Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field-trips in a safe and non-competitive environment.

How much does it cost?

The gross cost (without childcare allowance) is €94.50 per day or €472.50 per week. This price includes healthy organic warm meals and snacks throughout the day; entrance fees and transport for field trips; and all materials and instruction.

Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations. Dutch childcare allowance is available for parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality. Our staff will be happy to help you apply.
