Beach Camp

Beach Day Camps run in The Hague from Monday 17 - Friday 21 July

A fun filled week in the sand - from scavenger hunting to surfing lessons; creating beach art to life guarding and learning about waves and tides. One of our most popular camps!

During the week the campers will learn more about the beach environment as we embark on our very own Beach Trash Scavenger Hunt – collecting rubbish and sea washed artifacts along the water’s edge. After our satisfying adventure we’ll sort and share our finds – keeping anything of interest for craft activities later.

An introduction to water safety and life guarding is also included in the programme for our older campers. We start on the beach with team building games that encourage kids to run to instructors in the water helping them understand the waves, tides, currents and white wash. Our younger campers will have just as much fun with sand castles and treasure collages on the beach - followed by beach sports and games for all! Frisbee and the water balloon challenge are firm favourites!

Skateboarding practice back at base camps helps to improve their sense of balance – needed of course for skim-boarding and body-boarding/surfing fun! A special body-boarding workshop on learning water skills will take place with a focus on safety and control, before moving on to special tricks for those who are up for it!

In addition to the surfing lessons (Tuesday and Friday) and workshop activities specifically focusing on the beach theme of the week, beach camp also includes room to explore fun sports and recreational games of choice. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

Zein is the trusted partner to most of the international schools in The Hague including The British School, The International School of The Hague, The European School, The French Lycee and de Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. Please note however that families are free to select any of Zein's out of school care locations for holiday camps based on their preference of the theme. All four locations are registered and fully licensed, so working or families can claim part of the costs for the camps back via the Dutch Childcare allowance.

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

The camps also offer Dutch children the perfect opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

All our camps and activities are led by our qualified childcare workers and carried out in age appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training.  Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field-trips in a safe and non-competitive environment.

How much does it cost?

The gross cost (without childcare allowance) is €89.25 per day or €446.25 per week. This price includes healthy organic warm meals and snacks throughout the day; entrance fees and transport for field trips; and all materials and instruction.

Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations. Dutch childcare allowance is available for parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality. Our staff will be happy to help you apply.

How do I make a booking?

Bookings can be made via our online booking form. Your booking will be confirmed by DebiCare, our registration company, within 2-3 working days. If you would like to discuss your booking please contact a member of our team using 070 326 8263 or (link sends e-mail).
