Tech Camp

Tech Day Camps run in The Hague from Monday 25 - Friday 29 July

During this exciting technology focused camp, your child will be introduced to the basics of programming, animation, reverse engineering and much more... Colourful, easy-to-operate robots are a perfect tool for teaching sequencing, estimation, problem-solving, and just having fun!

Their imagination is the limit when they get to use ‘LittleBits’ electronic blocks – they’ll soon be empowered to invent anything, from your own remote controlled car, to a smart home device. The Bits snap together with magnets, no soldering, no wiring, and no programming needed.

Making animated movies on an iPad is another top favourite – using special apps to record audio and add various sounds to their animations.  Natural wizzkids will soon be adding, deleting, copying and moving animation frames and creating their very own animation masterpieces.

During the reverse engineering workshop, children and teachers take apart electronic objects to see how they are put together and how they work. Throughout the week there will be a wide range of discovery games and tech quizzes, puzzles and challenges – all aimed at helping our campers use their inquisitive brains while working together as a team.

But don’t worry that they’ll be spending all their time inside – two exciting field trips will also be planned to complement the Tech theme and there’s plenty of time planned in for a variety of sports and recreational games, to ensure that everyone has enough physical activity and outdoor fun.

In addition to the workshop activities specifically focussing on the theme of the week each camp also includes fun sports and recreational games, and two field trips. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

Zein is the trusted partner to most of the international schools in The Hague including The British School, The International School of The Hague, The European School, The French Lycee and de Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. Please note however that families are free to select any of Zein's out of school care locations for holiday camps based on their preference of the theme. All four locations are registered and fully licensed, so working or families can claim part of the costs for the camps back via the Dutch Childcare allowance.

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

The camps also offer Dutch children the perfect opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field-trips in a safe and non-competitive environment. Activities are led by our qualified childcare workers and carried out in age appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training.

How much does it cost?

The gross cost (without childcare allowance) is €85 per day or €425 per week. This price includes healthy organic warm meals and snacks throughout the day; entrance fees and transport for field trips; and all materials and instruction.

Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations. Dutch childcare allowance is available for parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality. Our staff will be happy to help you apply.
