Zein Spring Camps 2020

ABOUT THE CAMPS
During the upcoming Spring holidays, we will be running exciting Multi-Activity Camps where our Little Explorers (ages 4-6) and Big Adventurers (ages 7-12) can discover new interests and further develop their talents! The camps run simultaneously with the holidays of all key international and Dutch schools in The Hague, on week days from 08:00 - 18:30 hrs.

Having a full and varied programme at all out of school care locations, there is always something for every child while attending the camp - from numerous exciting activities to outdoor & indoor sports and recreational games. The programme is carefully put together as it is arranged per age group to ensure children of all ages will have great fun and are able to learn new skills.

The camps will be running at all six After School Care locations Zein locations across The Hague. Please see the sections below for more details on the dates, programme and daily organisation of activities.

*FIRST WEEK*

Monday 6 April 

Our crafty campers will start the April Camps with a day of arty activities! The Explorers will build a monster out of play dough before making monster bookmarks and a watercolour garland. Our Adventurers will make bubble paint hydrangeas before having a competition to build the best and most creative Gumdrop structures! As usual, all days will be complemented with sports and recreational games.

Tuesday 7 April 

Field Trip: Sea Life & GlowGolf, Scheveningen

Today our campers from The Estate will go on a field trip to the Sea Life Centre in Scheveningen where they can marvel at a world full of glittering scales, large tentacles and razor-sharp teeth. Next they will visit GlowGolf in Scheveningen. Here they can play 18 holes of mini golf in a unique, glow in the dark environment surrounded by fish, robbers and mermaids. After achieving golfing glory, the children can indulge themselves in various sports and recreational games of choice back at base camp.

Wednesday 8 April 

Ready, Steady, Cook! This morning our Explorers will make spring apple fruit doughnuts whilst our Adventurers will whip up a batch of bunny tails (truffles!). The afternoon will be spent doing arts and crafts – Explorers will make paper roll hyacinth flowers and our Adventures will make yarn-wrapped cardboard letters. As usual, all days will be complemented with sports and recreational games.

Thursday 9 April 

On Location: Art Workshop with Instructor

A French artist from Réunion Island living in the Netherlands will hold an exciting and energetic workshop with our campers! The children will learn a new painting technique, discover the style and anecdotes of a world famous artist and come home with a painting on canvas ready to be hanged up at home! After their arty adventure, campers can indulge themselves in various sports and recreational games of choice back at base camp.

Friday 10 April 

Our Explorers will discuss what friends mean to them and make hand print friendship wreaths, before creating cute little ladybugs! Our Adventurers will do straw weaving followed by making their own mouldable moon sand! To get all of our campers excited for Easter, they will complete an egg hunt in the playground in the afternoon! As usual, all days will be complemented with sports and recreational games.

Monday 13 April 

CLOSED – Easter Monday Public Holiday

Tuesday 14 April 

Today our Explorers will get creative, making magical unicorns out of popsicle sticks, glue and colourful card! They will then create flowers using the outlines of their own hands before playing musical statues!  Meanwhile, the Adventurers will make swirly whirly cosmic sun catchers and popsicle frames for their favourite photos before playing musical chairs. As usual, all days will be complemented with sports and recreational games.

Wednesday 15 April 

Recycling is the name of the game for The Willows Explorers this morning – they will be making and decorating bird houses from milk cartons! Then they will make lovely little turtles out of paper plates. The Adventurers will be using popsicle sticks to make their own brilliant bird houses. Afterwards, everybody will enjoy making their own Spring Slime with foam beads. As usual, all days will be complemented with sports and recreational games

Thursday 16 April 

Field Trip: TRIXS, Leiderdorp

Today our Explorers and Adventurers from The Willows will take a trip to TRIXS trampoline park! With careful supervision from Zein staff, our happy campers will bounce around like little kangaroos. With basketball nets, foam pits and an interactive wall, there is no end to the fun at TRIXS.

Friday 17 April

Back to the kitchen today! All of our little chefs will make their own pizza today with a tasty selection of toppings! Then they’ll get crafty, with the Explorers making a 3D curly caterpillar and the Adventurers making a 3D planet Earth! The children will then have time to listen and dance to music before the days ends with sports and recreational games.

Field Trip: Madurodam, The Hague

Today our campers will visit Madurodam! All of our campers will discover a city full of beautiful miniatures, activities and attractions such as the Dutch heritage of New York and the Dutch’s ability to transform water into land. Ask your kids what makes the small country of the Netherlands so great at the end of the day! After returning to base camp, the children can indulge themselves in various sports and recreational games of choice.

Wednesday 29 April

Today our Explorers will get creative, making magical unicorns out of popsicle sticks, glue and colourful card! They will then create flowers using the outlines of their own hands before playing musical statues!  Meanwhile, the Adventurers will make swirly whirly cosmic sun catchers and popsicle frames for their favourite photos before playing musical chairs. Field Trip: ‘t Geertje Animal Farm, Zoetermeer

Today our campers will get a taste of life on the farm! t’ Geertje is a diverse, multifaceted, 100% organic, small-scale farm. Their goal is to follow the circle of life as much as possible and to connect city and the countryside. Our campers will meet and see all kinds of farm animal and learn about life on a farm. After returning to base camp, the children can indulge themselves in various sports and recreational games of choice.

Friday 1 May
Back to the kitchen today! All of our little chefs will make their own pizza with a tasty selection of toppings!
