Circus Camp

Circus Camp runs in The Hague from Monday 10 - Friday 14 July and Monday 14 - Friday 18 August

Find out just how many cool ways there really are to have fun learning something new!  Each child will gradually build up key skills including balance, flexibility, coordination, teamwork and focus. Through success comes increased self-esteem...

Circus teaches children the benefits of hard work and self-reliance. It is great physical conditioning which is useful for dancers, gymnasts and sports enthusiasts of all kinds. During the course of the week, campers will learn how to juggle and ride a unicycle, they’ll have a go at rope balancing, try out some partner acrobatics, learn how to toss a diabolo and much more!

Each day starts with a fun warm up to help their bodies to prepare for all the jumping, bending, twisting and contorting they will do throughout the day. After warm-ups, campers are split into groups to rotate between the key activities for that session.

As always at Zein, there are great field trips to look forward to - starting with a trip that is likely to be the highlight of the camp as we visit a real circus school – ‘Circaso’.  Under the guidance of trained circus professionals, the children will be able to hone the skills they have started to develop earlier that week – as well as trying out other new and exciting tricks. Later in the week we'll visit Planet Jump - a fantastic indoor trampoline park. After a few hours of jumping, leaping, tumbling and rolling we can guarantee they will sleep well that night!

Finally, the week will be rounded off with a series of shows and performances to allow the children to show off their new found talents! They are sure to come away with a big smile on their face - amazed at just how far they’ve come and how much they’ve learnt that week.

In addition to the workshop activities specifically focusing on the theme of the week each camp also includes fun sports and recreational games, and two field trips. Click the link to see what a typical day at camp looks like.

Zein is the trusted partner to most of the international schools in The Hague including The British School, The International School of The Hague, The European School, The French Lycee and de Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. Please note however that families are free to select any of Zein's out of school care locations for holiday camps based on their preference of the theme. All four locations are registered and fully licensed, so working or families can claim part of the costs for the camps back via the Dutch Childcare allowance.

What language is spoken at the holiday camps?

Our holiday camps are open to everyone. English is the main language spoken, but many of our teachers are international and speak multiple languages. Where possible, and if needed, they will take the time to explain things in your child's mother tongue.

The camps also offer Dutch children the perfect opportunity to practice their English in a relaxed and informal setting - after all, learning works best when you're having fun!

Do you have qualified staff?

All our camps and activities are led by our qualified childcare workers and carried out in age appropriate format for children aged 4 – 6 and 7 – 12. Where relevant we make use of professional sports teachers and other specialists - all of whom have pedagogical and safety training.  Our holiday camps offer exciting hands-on activities, sports, recreational games and field-trips in a safe and non-competitive environment.

How much does it cost?

The gross cost (without childcare allowance) is €89.25 per day or €446.25 per week. This price includes healthy organic warm meals and snacks throughout the day; entrance fees and transport for field trips; and all materials and instruction.

Please note that all our camps are held at registered childcare locations. Dutch childcare allowance is available for parents working or studying in the Netherlands irrespective of nationality. Our staff will be happy to help you apply.
