Zein children return to After School Care. Zein kinderen keren terug naar de BSO

Zein's May Holiday Multi-Activity Camps began earlier this week with an exciting, carefully designed programme enabling children of all ages to have great fun and learn new skills.

Art Activities

In addition to other exciting arts and craft activities, campers will create their own artwork whilst learning about the masterpieces of famous artists. Last week, campers made a paper craft of Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and learned different origami techniques to make shapes inspired by Calder’s innovative mobile sculptures.

STEM Activities

STEM activities are some of the most delightful and inspiring activities for campers! The added benefit is that exposing children to exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) concepts allows children to connect elements of their everyday life with the STEM discipline, helping them learn skills that are transferrable to their formal education. Exciting activities in the May camps include building strong catapults, exploring colours with baking soda and vinegar, and using geometry to make colourful radial paper relief sculptures.

Creative Imagination Activities

Imagination helps children to develop many social-emotional skills, but first and foremost it’s fun! Whilst many Zein activities stimulate children’s imaginations, some are a little more… magical! In this holiday camp, our Adventurers will delve into the magical world of Harry Potter as they brew potions together. They will then proceed to charms class where they learn the Wingardium Leviosa spell to make objects fly!

Baking Activities

Each Zein camp offers many opportunities for children to make delicious, healthy treats (using organic ingredients!). However, whilst kids are mixing, pouring and getting a little bit messy, they are also learning to problem solve and how the food we eat is made!

As we come to the end of the first week of camp, we thank our experienced child care professionals who make the camps such fun for Zein children. Our staff make children feel at home whilst ensuring their wellbeing by following the Health and Safety Policy which will always meet, and at times even exceed, the guidelines issued by the government and childcare sector.
