The Zein Spring Camps 2018

About the camps
With the Spring Holidays approaching, we will be running our wonderful and exciting Multi-Activity Day Camps where our Little Explorers and Big Adventurers can find out more about their talents! Naturally, the camps run simultaneously with the holidays of all key international and Dutch schools in The Hague. 

The camps will be running at all five Zein Out of School Care locations. Please see the sections below for more details on the dates, programme and daily organisation of activities or click the link to reserve a place for your child.  

Camp dates
•    The Estate and The Willows (BSN): March 30 – April 16;
•    The Oaks (ISH) and The Maples (ESH): April 30 – May 11;
•    The Elms (HSV): April 30 – May 11;
•    The Elms (French Lycee): April 23 – May 4.

Field trips 
As each camp will be accompanied by a minimum of three entertaining field trips – depending on public holidays – so there will be something fun for all children joining!

•    Butterfly Garden Aan de Vliet – A tropical indoor butterfly jungle zoo;
•    KidsZoo – A hundred percent adventure on 2000 square meters playing-fun for children;
•    ‘t Geertje – A 100% organic, small-scale animal farm;
•    The Kinderboekenmuseum  Offers exciting interactive book related exhibitions for the children to participate in.

* * * Week 1: Spring & Bloom Camp * * *

Friday March 30    
As the little explorers enjoy an exciting Spring Colours Scavenger Hunt and a game of Balloon Tennis (after crafting their own rackets!), the big adventurers head out on a Scavenger Hunt – with GPS –, make a Cherry Blossom Tree Painting and a Clothespin Bird Craft. The day would not be complete without recreational games such as Egg and Spoon Races and adventurous French Cricket. 

Monday April 02

Tuesday April 03
A perfect day for all nature lovers! The arts and crafts activities of the day are all nature related as the little campers create beautiful flowers made of egg carton, paper tulips and bird nests. The older campers will enjoy crafting a Funny Face Flipbook, melted crayon art and they will compete in a Forest Rock Stack Competition.

Wednesday April 04
Field trip: Kinderboeken Museum
Let’s explore the wonderful world of books! The Kinderboeken museum offers exciting interactive book related exhibitions for the children to participate in. There are 2 age appropriate activity groups, ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 12 – ensuring a fun experience for all!

Thursday April 05    
All chefs gather round! Today yummy Easter Bunny Bread is on the menu for the little chefs and tasteful Honey Bread for the older ones. All artists in the making amongst the little campers can have fun making sponge paintings and folded paper sunflowers. The older artists can enjoy crafting yarn wrapped letter bookmarks and make a funny skeleton mobile out of cardboard boxes.

Friday April 06    
Field trip: ‘t Geertje organic animal farm
A farmer for a day, what fun that must be! Both big and little kids can feed and cuddle baby goats, go horse riding (under strict supervision of course!) and assist in the cheese-making process. After our field trip, the little explorers and big adventurers can unwind at base camp where they can enjoy doing arts and crafts by making colourful Holland tulips or by participating in sports and recreational games. 

* * * Week 2: Designing & Construction Camp * * *

Monday April 09    
We will kick off the second week designing and constructing of various arts and crafts! All little campers will enjoy making their own bubble wands with beads and they will be doing a cool Cat Newspaper Art Project. The big adventurers will create their own awesome Glowing Lava Lamp Bags, construct creative paper cube boxes, and do a Group Challenge by building and painting a popsicle house.

Tuesday April 10    
Field trip: Butterfly Garden
This field trip will take us to the Butterfly Garden ‘Aan de Vliet’, where all campers can wander around and learn about the life cycle and beauty of butterflies. After returning to base camp, we end the day with constructing a paper frog craft and some fun recreational games.

Wednesday April 11    
While the little explorers turn rocks into true designer works of art and enjoy a Lego Building Challenge, the big kids will be designing their own sneaker print, play The Movement Game and have fun during an Engineering Construction Challenge with wooden platters and plastic cups.

Thursday April 12    
Field trip: KidsZoo
Today’s field trip is all about clattering, climbing, and sliding at one of the nicest indoor playgrounds - under careful and strict supervision of the staff of KidsZoo and Zein! Back at base camp, the little and big kids will design and make a hand print heart tree or get active doing recreational games.

Friday April 13    
Today, it’s all about little fashionistas and young engineers! The little campers will design their own amazing t-shirts, design and construct an airplage!ne, and make a spinning Dixie cup windmill. The older kids will also test their designer skills by making an arty cloth and by hosting a Spring mini-fashion show. Additionally, they will engage in an exciting Group Bambox Construction Challenge

Monday April 16    
One more chance for all the chefs to showcase their skills as the little kids prepare some delicious French Bread Pizzas and the big kids Taco Pizzas. During a cosy picnic, all kids can taste and enjoy the wonderful food they just prepared themselves! Following, everybody gets creative when making a rainbow flower construction or designing and painting flower pots, including planting flowers!

After our field trip, the little explorers and big adventurers can unwind at base camp where they can enjoy doing arts and crafts by making colourful Holland tulips or by participating in sports and recreational games.

Let’s explore the wonderful world of books! The Kinderboeken museum offers exciting interactive book related exhibitions for the children to participate in. There are 2 age appropriate activity groups, ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 12 – ensuring a fun experience for all!

Thursday April 12

Thursday April 26    
Field trip: ‘t Geertje organic animal farm
A farmer for a day, what fun that must be! The big and little kids can feed and cuddle baby goats, go horse riding (under strict supervision of course!) and help in the cheese-making process. Back at base camp, all children can unwind doing various recreational activities.
